Winter’s coming ! Friends of the Assault Training Center are offering illustrated talks through the winter months to Devon and Cornwall groups and clubs interested in World War II history. Talks usually last about 45 minutes and subjects include – obviously the U.S. Assault Training Center – but also the Normandy landings, the inland battles for Normandy including the “Falaise pocket”, the disastrous Exercise “Tiger” off the south Devon coast, and even the “Holocaust” story of Anne Frank and Oscar Schindler. Richard Bass spent over nine years guiding groups through all these campaigns, sites and stories so if you’re filling your winter event calendar perhaps one of these could fill that spot.
