After building the LCVP and reversing Tim Isaacs Jeep onto the ramp for display, i realised that i really wanted a Jeep. I'd probably known this for some time but couldn't really justify having one as i didn't have a purpose for it.
But with the ATC Roadshow gathering momentum and the increasing amount of shows we were visiting i thought it would be a good idea to have a Jeep to display with all the other items. So in early 2014 i started to look for a restoration project but was put off by the silly prices and amount of rust! RUST i hate it!
I then bought a rolling chassis with paperwork and so the project was born.
It is a 1943 Ford GPW, but like most Jeep's it is made from several Willys and Ford parts, so wont be a show winner. Because of this we decided as with the LCVP (Moby) to give it a name which is 'Trigger' which i'm sure you are all aware is a reference to Triggers Broom in Only Fools And Horses (14 new heads and 27 handles!). I also decided to give it the same markings as one one of the ATC Jeeps, in fact the one pictured above with Colonel Thompson in the rear and General Jakie Devers in the front, whilst on a tour of the Assault Training Center. The 156th Infantry were the school troops at the time.
Over the coming months i will update with what ive done so far then keep you post as the build progresses.
